For our most recent story with Compeer Financial, we checked back in for an update on the Thalacker family.
Looking to move their family to the country, Ashley and Carl Thalacker eventually landed on Cuba City, Wisconsin, where they could be close to relatives and allow their three children to be close with their grandparents.
But when the couple decided their best option would be to build on Ashley’s parents’ land, they quickly ran into trouble. Traditional banks wouldn’t lend on the property without a deed in hand.
Thankfully, the Thalackers found Compeer just in time. With a specialty in rural lending, Compeer helped the Thalackers close on the loan.
And the family’s journey with Compeer didn’t end there. They also looked to Compeer for a construction loan on their barn-style dwelling, sometimes called a “barndominium” or "shouse.”
Today, the Thalackers have moved into their new home and are getting the most out of their life in the country.
Best of all, the kids have grown closer to their grandparents, who come over every Sunday night for dinner.
