Where Discovery Creates Hope - August 2021

Harold Palm didn’t want to go see a doctor. But he was struggling daily, unable to even pick up his son without respiratory distress.  

After his wife forced him to go to M Physicians Broadway Family Medicine Clinic, things began to change. Harold, who distrusted doctors and the healthcare system, formed a special bond with primary care doctor Dr. Paul Stadem.  

Paul worked with Harold over the next several months for a diagnosis as his condition worsened. Eventually, a test found that Harold had a rare condition called mixed connective tissue disease. 

Harold would need a lung transplant. And he needed Paul by his side.  

 “I told him, we’re just going to have to learn together, bro. Because I’m not doing it if you’re not doing it with me, Harold said.  

"I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him.”
